Natasha Janssens is a financial advisor and mother whose aim is to remove the stigma around learning financial planning from a trusted source and empower as many women as possible to take control of their finances.
From a very young age, Natasha realised that money was tied to everything - our career choices, relationships with our spouse, our parents and our kids, our physical, mental and emotional well being.
At 18 she fled a war zone leaving behind family and all her belongings to move to Australia and build a new life for herself. “As a survivor of a war torn country you learn to survive on hope - hope for greater opportunities. When I started out in business, I learnt that there were many women had little confidence with money management and it was little wonder given what they were up against with challenges like pay gaps, discrimination against working mums in the workplace, domestic violence and financial abuse. Women have little trust in our financial system and that needs to change because how well we manage our money determines how our future plays out.”
“I believe that handing our financial future over to a man (or another other person) is the riskiest investment we can make. Financial literacy is not starting early enough. The school system is overwhelmed and most of the financial advice we get is promoted by the banks who trying to sell us their products. We need to be more vigilant to determine if the advice we get is right for us.”
